If HenryFord had to with all of the rules, regulations and loan requirements that Elio Motors has to deal with we would all be mucking out stalls and oiling harness leather on a regular basis.
William, welcome from New Mexico, Land of Enchantment, and miles of great roads for the Elio. You hit the nail on the head with your comment about it being difficult for Elio to manage expectations.
We are a ranty bunch! Most of the ranters still at heart back the Elio whole heartedly, they just like to express what they are thinking. And yes, there are skeptics in the mix too but overall we are on board for the ride and enjoy exchanging opinions (agreeing with, disagreeing with or agreeing...
...if failing to manage expectations. And with an undertaking of this size and scope, it's pretty hard to make all of your dates. After all, this would be like a young fellow named HenryFord trying to build his company from the ground up while telling people what he was doing every step of the way.
Per Elio Motors website, the date for Elio's episode will Air Saturday February 7th, at 11am Eastern time, on the HenryFord's Innovation Nation. Set your DVR. Should be interesting. I wonder if they edited the time line since the announcement of the recent delay, since this episode was...
HenryFord didn't invent the automobile, but he did figure out
a practical & economical way to bring it to the marketplace.
I view Paul Elio as very similar to Ford. Yes, some errors
have been made but in the grand scheme of things the
Elio has come a long way & I very much look forward to

Anywhere in this time line there could easily be a 3 year delay in development and/or introduction. Note that because of HenryFord's actions we have the USA auto industry.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, interloper07. It is a pleasure to meet someone else who likes the Elgin dash. I hope you enjoy this exciting adventure and journey to Elio production and ownership. See you next year in our Elios. :-) Z
...Elio's name is on the car, and it's a private company; he can do what he wants. Excessive hubris is pretty common among automotive execs. HenryFord famously offered his customers the Model T in any color they wished, "as long as it is black." If an out-of-the-box (design) gauge cluster based...
didn't henryford say that you can have any color you want as long as it is black? nothing wrong with that. at least for a few dollars more you can get a different color.
Boy, that's depressing about the colors other than black being optional cost. Shades of HenryFord! They've been advertising their seven colors for at least 10 months, with no suggestion of extra cost. It's been "pick your color, pick your tranny, and add options." Also, the color-matching...
