I'm not sure I agree with Jim H about the younger generation realizing the historical or economical significance....just like us old farts,,,,it's a cool ride, plain and simple.
I recently learned that Washington state now requires new vehicles to be California emissions certified. I don't know if that requirement applies to motorcycles or not. Will the Elio be California emissions certified?????
MY plan is to have #1437,,,,so anyone after that will wait longer (that's why I said MOST will wait longer) I should have gotten a number sooner, but took a couple of months researching before I leaped.
Welcome to the crowd...You and I are thinking a lot alike, although I was more attuned to using it as my cold weather ride, since I am gettin old enough that riding at 31 degress (even with heated gear) is pretty stinking uncomfortable. I have however now decided my main ride will be the Elio ...
I agree with ya..still a lot of generalities but a good read anyway. I figure the sooner I get mine, the sooner I can start on the longevity testing, lol.
I'm trying to figure out why you think the Cg is too far to the rear?? You have the entire front suspension, two tires and wheels, an engine and a transmission, firewall, steering column, windshield and miscellaneous all in front of the driver,,,with one seat, one tire and one swing arm behind...
Welcome from Washington state and seat #1437 on the Elio train...I'm enjoying the ride and also excited about the Elio, like you I find it easy to envision driving an Elio and absolutely love the premise.......brings to mind the original Subaru "Inexpensive and built to stay that way". I plan...
Welcome to the group. I think you'll find a lot of excited people hanging around here, kicking the one in front of them on the waiting list. trying to get to that Elio a bit sooner...have no fear, it'll be here sooner than you think (of course, that will be when you are looking back on the wait...
Welcome aboard Daniel, good to see ya here. I have family in Peoria, and I'm trying to get them to check out the Elio..Can I send you over to kick em in the butt, lol. I agree with you that once on the streets the Elio will be an attention getter and draw in lots of new owners.
I was just reading these posts for the first time today, and saw the mention of Waze. I added it to my cell about 6 months ago, though I've only used it once, while traveling in Seattle and headed up north from there. I was impressed with how much info you get, with all the posted comments...
Welcome aboard, the waiting train, it's loaded with some cool people, a few mal-contents, and lots of information and guesses as to what we'll eventually end up with. No matter how long the ride, the result will be awesome and worth the wait.
Another welcome from Washington state. Glad to have another lurker and soon to be Elio owner. This may well be the best place to cool while waiting for you new ride.
Welcome to the mad house..we might all be looking to sample some of that beer if we don't get out Elio's next year, lol. Any way, thanks for hooking up with us, and enjoy the ride. You'll find lots of info here, and mostly good people excited out the Elio.
