Exactly! It'd be interesting to see what share of the company the $50M of crowd-funded equity (to non-accredited investors) will buy. My biggest concern is even if they get the $50M, they still need a lot more, which needs to come from some where.
I saw a 3-wheeled vehicle yesterday on the highway. I didn't get a chance to take a photo, but it looked sort of like this:

I guess it's not cheap, nor does it have the gas mileage of the Elio.
Well, I definitely wouldn't want to be the first person to get into an accident with the Elio! Fortunately, there is about six months of waiting list in front of me (once and if the car finally rolls out), so we should have anecdotes about accidents by the time my number is called. :)
I read that self-driving cars might be affordable by 2025. If the Elio is not produced within a few years, it might be competing against this new technology, unless they can invest in developing a self-driving Elio. :)
Any of you delaying a car purchase waiting for the Elio? I had my heart set that the Elio would be my next car. Fortunately, my current car still works, but I'd like to get a new car at some point. It's been one year since I placed my reservation for the Elio, and the outlook is looking only dimmer.
The investment is non-refundable if no one way will pay you a buck for the shares.
By the way, I wonder what is the valuation of the company based on the price relative to equity.
I like how the Elio continues to get much publicity. However, the title of this Yahoo articles implies significant news of progress. The article did not contain that.
True! I think many more would put down $1000 non-refundable, once it's clear the Elio will be built. Hopefully, this deadline indicates that the news to follow will make the $500 unnecessary and inappropriate. Clearly, the person who put $1000 non-refundable one year ago and went through all of...
I also dropped by the Tesla store. about 200 feet from the Elio display. That Model-S is a thing of beauty at $95K. The sales lady said there will be a $40K Tesla in 2017. So, if the Elio is not built by 2017, perhaps a Tesla!
Yeah, the crowd was not big on Sunday. I got in the car twice. The second, I confirmed that I could see the fronts wheels from the driver's vantage point. Somebody here was concerned that the wheels would not be visible.
