You hear a lot of things, like Elio has the money, it's delayed due to regulations. It will get 84 mpg, cost $6800. 5 star rating, so far nothing. What do you think will happen if Elio finds out they can save $50 or $100 per engine if they outsource engine to a vendor in the plant and meet their...
Elio lists IAV as a supplier not a vendor, contractor, or subcontractor. What does that mean?
Basic research, ah like looking at various companies throughout the world, that offer 2 & 3 cylinder engines (a couple of countries have big markets for this, and are in 3 wheeled vehicles, but that...
Did I mention anything about transparency? I thought I was clear about funding answer, answer given was what I expected. Did I say I had a problem with it? I'm pretty sure I said, answer given was what I expected and left it at that. You are the one that brought up transparency..........You...
Well Elio responded but did not answer all the questions. The engine question. Clearly ignored the specifics of the question. Honda, Suzuki, Polaris have vehicles with engines that are similiar in weight to the Elio (not heavier). Warranty claims, come on, how many times is a dipstick replaced...
Good to know, ever since I heard about this stuff(a couple years ago), I've been thinking about running it in my Grand Wagoneer.. I forget. What did you have to do. If I recall it was more involved than just draining out old coolant?
Yep, can't wait. The Elio event I attended last summer, Elio support staff were certainly aware of article. No official response though. Now they decide to respond. Yes it will be interesting.
Exactly. start ups fail. Now Elio needs to hire a finance person. They have $55m, need $200m and have said nothing about how they will get the money. In the Elio email that resevation holders got, no mention of funding due to delay, but in an article Paul Elio states delay due to funding. Real...
5. Believed in it, realized they simply do not have the funds. Realize Paul Elio is in over his head (not a bad person, just in over his abilities). Post things like delay is due to lack of funding. Get attacked, idea dismissed...........Meanwhile Paul Elio does an article (someone else posted...
Curious why every 3k miles?

I do oil analysis on my oil.

Even my synthetic oil in my diesel Jetta still had detergent and life left after 9k miles.
Don't get me wrong that is a lot of money, but compare it to a X-Bow, Ariel Atom or a Deronda. I figure those vehicles would be close to the Carver in the "fun" department, and they cost 2 to 5(Deronda) times more.
There's always the Chevrolet Spark. I got 45mpg. I liked the car so much, after 52 weeks of ownership I got rid of it. A condenser problem, it was fixed correctly and required only 1 visit to dealership.. I just didn't like car
I understand how it works, I watch the shows, I read the car magazines, watch the shows about the business side of the autombile industry, I have been to Japan JUST for the auto show, I drove 10 hours to New York just to attend auto show, after I attended, I got in car and drove home (another 10...
Which is just one of the reasons why it will be delayed again. This isn't some little week long testing, get on a laptop and reprogram everything. All kinds of different systems from different manufactures, and getting it to work together. Not as easy as people think. Less than 1 year of testing...
