I think that's where they really messed up. Investing all the capital into developing a new engine when there were already developed engines available. I get they were trying to obtain the 84mpg, but I think we all would have been very content with 70 or 75 mpg so we could get to production.
I've just about given up. Hate to say that. I will never believe it was a scam or anything other than a failed start up business. But I am concerned over the lack of communication from Paul. The silence is what's veering me towards this never happening.
Ultimately, it was mine. Headed to work before sunrise. 2 cars had gotten in a small wreck in the passing lane. The got out to exchange info and they turned the car off and didn't put their hazard lights on. I never saw them and hit the back car going about 45 MPH. My Explorer flipped on it's...
I would imagine almost everyone is still interested. The better question is how many still believe it will happen. If they started production, I imagine there would be very, very few that would not buy one.
Same here. Lots has happened since I went all in. I was hoping that my Kia Sorento would last longer when I got my Elio and would be driving the Elio much less. But I got tired of putting money into the Kia and bought a Ford Explorer a couple years ago. Totaled it about a moth ago and bought...
I haven't given up. I have no regrets. Yes, my confidence is not a high as it used to be, but I'm still all in.
But mostly, I don't feel duped. I have seen nothing that indicates that there have been nothing but the best efforts to bring the Elio to fruition. All start up companies are risky...
It absolutely makes sense for me as an "and" car. I commute 80 miles per day round trip. When I put my deposit down, gas was around $3 a gallon. We calculated the the car payment on an Elio would be about the same as the gas savings each month on my SUV.
At this point I really don't care. I bought in just to have a fun car and a conversation piece. I think 50 mpg is easily reached and I would be okay with that, but I think they are much closer to meeting their goal with about 75 to 80 mpg. Either way, just produce.
Bought 296 of the bid shares @ the open with a limit order. Final time for ELIO, going to try & continue crowdfunding XTI now at $1.50 up from a buck before. That's the two places the play money goes. No lottery tickets. Will the lottery winner be an Elio Addict?
I swear if i win the...
I rather like social media. I enjoy staying connected. I know it's not for everyone. I don't live where I grew up, so I enjoy staying in contact with a lot of old friends that still live back home.
Also, my beer league hockey teams and my kids sports teams use facebook groups to stay connected...
