    Still Here

I bailed from the website a few months ago just to take a breath. I'm still all in and 'committed' to buying shares. The buildup and subsequent delays wore me out. I still have the faith though. The bad part is that the cap, with my number on the back, I bought in the height of my enthusiasm is...

    Here's An Idea

From what I've seen and read, most everything on the E should be fairly easy to service and repair. Except for the "revolutionary" engine.

    Here's An Idea

Sure enough. Imagine a guy finds you via club sites or elsewhere. He describes the problem and if it's simple enough you can tell him what parts to order. When he gets to you he knows he hasn't been ripped off on overpriced parts. For an oil and filter change he can get the parts for dirt cheap...

And I'm sure my rates would be fair. Very fair

    Here's An Idea

I'm pretty handy around cars, bikes, farm equipment and small engines. I'm sure, based on reading many of the posts from other enthusiasts here, that we can set up an informal network of Elio "repair shops" for other owners that do not have the know-how or desire to work on them. For those that...

Thread(s) Of Elio As Long-distance Highway Machine

Sure hope so. I just sold my '97 Accord with 230,000 miles on it. Bought it new. Averaged about 32-34mpg. It was a great car. It did a lot of highway miles at highway speeds and never let me down. The Civic has about 210,000 and get a whopping 36mpg on average (except at high speeds/rpm's)...

Thread(s) Of Elio As Long-distance Highway Machine

For satx's benefit I'll repeat a comment I made in another forum: I live in NC and have grandkids in the burbs just north of Detroit. 658 miles door to door. I'm looking forward to making the trip without stopping (for gas...). I've made the trip several times in a '96 Civic and it's not great...

    Is Elio Sandbagging?

I would normally say that's a great question but- it took me 8 (!) months to do a refi last year.

    Is Elio Sandbagging?

The reason I asked was that I became a good sandbagger by watching sandbaggers. I owned the 3rd largest commercial drywall company in this area for over 20 years. Prior to that I worked for the largest one. The GC's we dealt with were excellent sandbaggers. If they wanted a job done in six...

How Far Did You Travel To See The Elio? (hours/minutes)

A little less than 1.5hrs. Around 90 miles. Hopefully the dealership will be in a more convenient location (for me!).

    Is Elio Sandbagging?

Talked to a couple of the guys with the Elio team Saturday in Charlotte about production startup. As I expected, they both said what we all have heard over and over- 4th quarter '15. But- I sorta got the impression that they might be holding back and it could start as early as the first of...

I like the pic with both arms up and out the windows. Gives a really good idea of the size.

    Raleigh Show In Raleigh

I don't know if there was any media coverage in Charlotte but maybe y'all will get some in Raleigh. Especially if Rep. Torbett stops by.

My last word on Charlotte. I spoke to one of the reps and mentioned to 25% bump in the bonus. He said "Hey, it was the right thing to do". I told him I thought it was very generous of Elio and that if I snoozed and loozed and got stuck with a 25% bonus it was my fault not Elio's. I would have...

Hmmm. Ok. Having never owned a front opening hood I wouldn't know. Sounds like it's easy enough to do service then. I've never had a hood blow open, at any speed on any vehicle, since I started driving a LONG time ago. Never even had the primary latch turn loose much less the secondary. With...

What's everyone's thoughts on the forward opening hood? While it looks cool it seems to me that it makes servicing more difficult. I'd rather have the standard style. ***(I'm sure there's other forums here where this is discussed at length)***

Did I say 'bland'? Sorry. I didn't go to see the details. I know they're all up in the air and in the works. I really wanted to get an Elio boost, see it in person, get my wife to see that it's for real, see how it sits and how it feels. I feel good!

    Wife's Idea

I'm already looking on Ebay and elsewhere at old airplane seats for sale. Pull off the tray table, throw away the seat (or as my neighbors do with old couches and recliners- put it on the porch). The big question is what are the numbers (width, height, etc) would you need to fit whatever seat E...
