Why do a lot of American cars, foreign cars have metal horn buttons and chrome and hard plastic parts right on the center hub of the steering wheel if this is where the airbag inflates- which would drive all of that hardware into the drivers face? I think those parts are designed to break...
How do you equate skinny tires being better at anything other than lighter weight and less drag? Ever try riding a road bicycle through sand? Those skinny tires offer no traction and you get bogged down. Now, try riding through that same sand on a mountain bike or wide tired bicycle...
I watched a video about the newest Elio and the representative from the company said that the "ECO" and "POWER" buttons were for the automatic version. He didn't go on to explain what the other buttons/ports were. It looks like a cigarette lighter socket with a little rubber cover is just...
That video shows an Elio driving over a well plowed road. I am talking about trying to forge a path through 12 inches of snow. This is all conjecture on everybody lambasting me about how great the Elio will handle with skinny tires, seeing that none of you have ever actually driven it in...
They definitely have to bring back the chrome ring for the horn button, and put the cruise control back on the steering wheel. That current non-descript horn hub looks so cheap. They had a classy wheel, why change that??
Saw some pics of the newest rendition of the Elio and saw those skinny, skinny tires!! They look like motorcycle tires that wouldn't afford much traction on ice and snow up here in the frozen north country. I hope these are just cheap prototype tires for testing purposes, and not what will...
Actually, this iteration of the dash isn't terrible. I really wouldn't care if it was one BIG dial with an array of 50 idiot lights! I just want a DASH, inside an ELIO, and ME behind the wheel!!
Did anyone notice the low ground clearance at the front end of the passenger area? The rear wheel is up nice and high, but the front foot well area looks less than 5" above the concrete. Maybe just an optical illusion?
I think either an illuminated or highly reflectorized Elio logo on the rear center of the wheel fenders would suffice. And one on the rear plastic panel under the license plate, somewhat smaller.
