You youngsters need to exercise a little more patience, I waited until I retired at 65 to get my Saturn Sky with a Mallette LS 2 conversion under the hood. I'll be 78 this June and I expect I'll be around to get my Elio since the average age of my parents and grandparents was 92. Patients, young...
I haven't seen any Elio ads either, but I guess that's my own fault for cutting the cable eight years ago because I was sick to death of all the relentless ads on TV. Talk about Irony. :(
Based on my experience with the purchase of my Saturn Sky, the base price was $23,690, after all the tax and other crap, my total cash outlay was $25,202, an extra $1512, but that was back in 2006. I have to assume that extra outlay has gone up a tad since then. Sigh.
I've already given my LS-2 powered Saturn Sky to my son this year to keep me out of trouble, It is really freaky fast and I just turned 77. I just hope I'll get my Elio before I'm too old to drive. :car:
Finally, they're bringing the Elio to Indiana. I'll be there hell or high water. I live in Columbus, Indiana, so It will be an easy trip.
Now if they will confirm a production date, I'll be happy. By the way, where in Indianapolis are they showing the Elio?
At first I thought I'd go with the Licorice, then after seeing the new P5, I'll go with Hot Red to park along side of my Chile Pepper red Mallett Saturn Sky.
What do you think, would they make a good pair?
I'll never understand why people think it's so important to be one of the first to get something. When I ordered my Saturn Sky way back in March of 2006, it was said that it would take 6 months or more to get delivery. As it turned out I got mine delivered by June of that year. When they finally...
Would love to see the Elio in person, but to my knowledge, with all the trips it has made around the country, the closest it has been would have been a 4 to 5 hour drive for me. I keep hoping they will one day make a stop in the Indianapolis or Cincinnati area which wouldn't be too much of a...
Putting down cash up front without the benafit of first hand hand experience of the product has its downsides, but as my experience with my Saturns was that once the product got into the hands of the people, the sales were great until the unfortunate events of the economy going bust. Even then...
I too have been keeping track of the reservation numbers, and since I went in back in Sept of 2014 there has been an average of 275 more reservation per month as of march 22nd 2015 for a total of 40945.
Interesting, that's about 5000 more reservation than the total 3 year production run of the...
