Have I given up?
Well, I plan to live forever... ...or die trying.
I don't expect to live forever, but I haven't given up on it either.
In the same way, I am not giving up on Elio. I'm not really expecting it, but I have high hopes... and about the same odds. :p

True or not, White/Silver are said to reflect heat better. Being from the South this is important to myself and many of my brothers and sisters.

I really like the idea. I don't know if it would be an influx of cash, but I'd want a 1/18 one on my desk. (price within reason, of course)
I mean, not everyone wants a model, because they want the car too.
Some might perversely want one because the car might 'not' get made. Tucker or Edsel...
I've heard of Costco, but never seen one. I just figured it was an unspecified regional chain somewhere. Like Menard's is for hardware, or Ikea is for... whatever Ikea sells. You hear of them, but never see them.
I agree, Wal-Mart is everywhere.

I've had this discussion with many co-workers over they years. Those that like the art of the deal, the negotiations, see no problem and can't understand why others would want fixed pricing and "miss out" on the fun.
I want a toaster oven, I shop for make, model, price, then buy a toaster...
At least your guy knew what an Elio was. Every time I've been at the Pep Boys I've asked about the Elio. No one has ever even known what it was. They'd be fascinated by the pictures I show them, then zone out again as I turn away.
I'd wager if I were to ask again in 30 min they'd still be...
1] Is this pronounced "and"?
2] Is this pronounced "ampersand"?
-or-
3] Is that an unpronounceable symbol such as what was used by the artist formally known as Prince?

No, he called it the DMC-12. it's refereed to as "the DeLorean" because it was the only model ever produced by the company.

I've always thought of Elio as the Company, not the Model name of the vehicle.
Ford named his company after himself, but named his first vehicle Model A. (imagination apparently not a strong suit at the time) ;)
Hopefully, Mr Elio, like Mr Ford, will have many, many Model names in his future...
How about the E-Go?
I mean... anyone that thinks they could start a car company from scratch...

I might be interested in getting a piece of that, but the only stock I've ever owned were in 401Ks.
How does one purchase, say, 50,000 shares?
