Hmmm, Not a steel panel body, no steel unibody, NO airbags, no oil changes, no extra $1050 for an automatic tranny, no waiting for the coolant to heat then turn on the defrost, the only apparent downside - it's twice the $ of an Elio - and there's NO green (or yellow!) I may throw $250 their...

Build it RIGHT!, These are all vaild points - for someone who should strongly consider a vehicle that is NOT the current iteration of the Elio. There are several other vehicles that might meet your needs and have already addressed your concerns. Perhaps you should look elsewhere for awhile.

Does your niece take that 7K directly to her broker and invest it ...or does she take it to WalMart and the grocery store to buy clothes and food - pumping it right back into the economy? I suppose you would rather someone who 'earned it' but doesn't need it (and will NEVER miss it) get it back...

My main concern is Elio has not 'locked-in'. Anything and everything are still open to change. I will make a decision that involves my $ when the salable product has been finalized through pre-pilot and pilot production. Not before then.
