I had an opportunity to sit in a Solo, and I have no doubt it will be freeway capable. However, for me, it would not be freeway comfortable. Like Rick says, it's just SOLOW! I am averse to low riding vehicles, and prefer a car that gives me excellent visibility. That's one reason why I am...
LOL! Very true!
However, the crowd that I find myself running with every day, the Seattle moto-commuting crowd, will fall over themselves for the Arcimoto. It presses all the right buttons. But that crowd is infinitesimal compared to the cager crowd, or even the weekend motorcyclist crowd...
More like apples to pears. As an active motorcyclist, I consider the Arcimoto to be an electric motorcycle. The folks at Arcimoto have not minced words, they explicitly indicate that their product is a motorcycle.
I would be shocked if demand for the Arcimoto ever exceeds 10K per year. The...
Thanks!
At the moment, it's difficult to imagine how the hard top will work, since there don't seem to be any doors on the prototype. Perhaps, doors will be a production model feature.
Rick, as a former MSF instructor, I can tell you this is absolutely true. Skills learned in motorcycle rider training WILL make you a better driver of any vehicle. Also, the advanced classes, and racing classes will again elevate your game, car or bike.
But a huge reason to take the class is...
I think I should retract my statement regarding being better for commuting. I believe I mis-remembered my reasons for my decision. As I said, I really liked the T-Max and gave it serious consideration, but the parameters for my second motorcycle were very specific, and the seat height of the...
A cheaper option would be the Honda CTX/NCX 700 series motorcycles with the DCT. I looked at the T-Max, and it's a very fine scooter. But the CTX was a better fit for my commuting needs.
I've given up for now, and put deposits on both the Arcimoto SRK and the Electra Meccanica Solo, both of which look like they are on track for an early 2018 availability. I haven't completely given up on Elio though. If and when they are available, I'll most likely buy one for my daughter, who...
New poster here. I really like the look of the open wheel fenders, but I wonder what the price to pay will be for the privilege, in terms of miles per gallon. It seems that the stock fenders would contribute significantly to the overall fuel efficiency, the open fenders less so.
Any ideas?
