    Just Wow!!!

I'd wager that'll be the 1.0 litre Ecoboost.

    Ampere Motors

I had an opportunity to sit in a Solo, and I have no doubt it will be freeway capable. However, for me, it would not be freeway comfortable. Like Rick says, it's just SOLOW! I am averse to low riding vehicles, and prefer a car that gives me excellent visibility. That's one reason why I am...

    Sondors Electric Car

If I were a betting man, I'd take you up on a wager. But having said that, I'd truly prefer to see your prediction become reality. ;)

    Sondors Electric Car

LOL! Very true! However, the crowd that I find myself running with every day, the Seattle moto-commuting crowd, will fall over themselves for the Arcimoto. It presses all the right buttons. But that crowd is infinitesimal compared to the cager crowd, or even the weekend motorcyclist crowd...

    Sondors Electric Car

More like apples to pears. As an active motorcyclist, I consider the Arcimoto to be an electric motorcycle. The folks at Arcimoto have not minced words, they explicitly indicate that their product is a motorcycle. I would be shocked if demand for the Arcimoto ever exceeds 10K per year. The...

Another somewhat relevant point of reference: Zero Motorcycles made around 1800 bikes in 2015.

    Ampere Motors

Thanks! At the moment, it's difficult to imagine how the hard top will work, since there don't seem to be any doors on the prototype. Perhaps, doors will be a production model feature.

Lu, do you have a source for this information? I'd love to see a rendering of the windshield and top. Thanks!

There's an old engineer's adage: getting to 80 percent takes 20 percent of the time, the last 20 percent takes 80 percent of the time.

    Arcimoto

Rick, as a former MSF instructor, I can tell you this is absolutely true. Skills learned in motorcycle rider training WILL make you a better driver of any vehicle. Also, the advanced classes, and racing classes will again elevate your game, car or bike. But a huge reason to take the class is...

While Waiting,,, Bought A Yamaha 2015 Tmax Scooter!

I think I should retract my statement regarding being better for commuting. I believe I mis-remembered my reasons for my decision. As I said, I really liked the T-Max and gave it serious consideration, but the parameters for my second motorcycle were very specific, and the seat height of the...

While Waiting,,, Bought A Yamaha 2015 Tmax Scooter!

A cheaper option would be the Honda CTX/NCX 700 series motorcycles with the DCT. I looked at the T-Max, and it's a very fine scooter. But the CTX was a better fit for my commuting needs.

Wow, what a great idea! Here's hoping we'll all have some kind of three wheeler in 2018/2019!

What Is The Latest Start Production Date?

I've given up for now, and put deposits on both the Arcimoto SRK and the Electra Meccanica Solo, both of which look like they are on track for an early 2018 availability. I haven't completely given up on Elio though. If and when they are available, I'll most likely buy one for my daughter, who...

    The Vanderhall Three Wheeler

The new Vanderhall Venice is considerably cheaper at a shade under $30K. Still, too rich for my blood.

Fuel Consumption Cost Of Open Fenders

New poster here. I really like the look of the open wheel fenders, but I wonder what the price to pay will be for the privilege, in terms of miles per gallon. It seems that the stock fenders would contribute significantly to the overall fuel efficiency, the open fenders less so. Any ideas?
