I purchased 425 shares of Elio stock for $5,100 in 2015. I have finally decided that I will write off the entire $5,100 as a tax loss for 2023. If for some reason ice crystals form in hell then I'll have to figure out how to reverse the tax loss.
Its been 2 years since I stopped by..... I was also looking for any signs of life from Elio. The website is still active, but that's about all I can find.
What was Paul famous for saying? "We can get the price so low because we use all off the shelf components". Every other word was off the shelf. Was that a lie?
I have not given up on Elio, even though I know the path to production will be very difficult. The Elio experience has been very good for me. I made my reservation 4 1/2 years ago. $1,000 all in. At the time I was looking to replace my 9 year old car with something newer. Waiting on the Elio...

Agree 100%. Like I've said before he's a great inventor and engineer, but his PR skills need work. He does need to say something to stop the massive selling.
I do not have more facts than anyone else. If I knew for sure I'd borrow money to buy or short shares of stock. I've already accepted the worst case scenario..... my $1,000 deposit along with a couple hundred shares will be flushed down the toilet, and then I'll either buy a cheap new car or a...
NASDAQ and ATVM are going to come through! Drexel Hamilton will do their part and so will the lobbyist. We'll all get our Elio's in 2019.
Winners: Reservation holders. Paul and Elio Motors. Stu Lichter. Reg-A market: entire future of that market is riding on Elio. Unemployed American...
Yes Johnny. They are already making contact with large brokerage firms to get a feel for how many shares they can sell. Then once the IPO is announced those brokerage firms will begin offering shares to their clients. This will be a higher risk IPO, similar to making a venture capital...
