Hope is dimming? The last few weeks have been full of encouraging news. They confirmed there will be no more delays for one. 2019 is a done deal. I don't see how anyone can say they doubt it will be built.
As far far as demand, I'm not really sure. Honestly, as much as I hate to admit, of all...
I'm glad they posted the video of the Elio arriving. I've seen a lot of the nay-sayers making these wild claims that Elio's prototypes are non-working and that they don't have a completed engine. I bet a lot of them had smoke coming out of their ears when they saw that video.
He didn't say it was almost done, or partially done, he said it was done, ready to go. Did you listen to the interview? The host himself was talking about how he had driven it. Sounds like it's a finished design to me. Motor, body, everything... I'd have to doubt Paul would just make things up...
But thats the thing that is different now. He's not giving estimated dates, and he's not saying pending funding. I think he has most of the funding in hand, and has had it for a while now.
I've been looking into the past statements since I haven't been following for long. Not that long ago...
I listened. Great interview. Again, Paul confirmed funding was there and production now has a date locked down. Why are people still skeptical? I realize in the past there have been delays, but Elio would always say production is pending funding or use more vague projected dates like "second...
I'm guessing these guys waited until the full funding announcement from Elio and then made their move trying to get a piece of the pie. Timing is too coincidental... I wonder if they were at the suppliers meeting. Kind of a low down thing to do.
I'm sure if they are really pumping out 250k elios per year as planned, last I could find, you'd think someone would want that business. Around these parts, I'd think even a small engine type place could service an Elio. I mean, like a place that works on the bigger commercial mowers...
Paul also said that 150 would be built and delivered in October. Assuming those are probably fleet vehicles for some real world testing. So with that, shouldn't we be seeing some activity at the plant, surely they'll need to hire a bunch of people right away. I think once we all see those jobs...
Thanks all for the additional info. Like I said, I've been following the project for a while looking at the design and concept. As a career, I've worked as an engineer, solid works designer, planner, and metal fabrication, so the Elio is right up my alley. Anyway, it sounds like there is some...
Thanks for the welcome.
Paul, during his update, gave a pretty firm date on production, plus or minus a couple weeks. I don't know about others, but to me, I don't know how that can mean anything other than he's got funding, maybe not in hand, but lined up, and countdown timer has started. I...
I have not seen in person, I don't know if the tour ever made it anywhere near me. That's one negative thing on the Elio, no pep boys in Iowa. But if there are enough of them, I'm sure service won't be a problem, someone will want a piece of that action.
I am a long time motorcyclist, so I'm...
How is it hyperbole and speculation when yesterday Paul literally had a press conference saying the that the production timeline had started and deliveries would commence in late 2019. No "pending funding" or anything like that, sounded to me like it's s done deal. Why else meet with the...
I'll tell ya where they are, at home in bed! After all, they were up pretty late last night eating all that crow, probably stuffed!
I agree with you on the stock too. Watched a lot of co-worker s pay off their houses with Keurig stock a few years ago, as a local company had some.big time...
Hi folks. New member from Iowa here. I guess I'm what Elio calls an engineering afficisniado, being as I work as an engineer and have been watching the project for some time now, from that standpoint.
With yesterday's announcement about funding now in place and the production timeline kicking...
