Why not make spatz or trailer fenders and option choice? Also, how about making them both so that they are easy to change or to remove altogether? That would also make it easy to attach fully customized fenders - which could lead to some very cool ideas. That way everybody gets their own...

With respect to Mr. Elio, there are certainly more marketable names than 'Elio'. The name needs to be simple, unique, and memorable (like the car!). I need to think on this one.............

Is there any info on the automatic transmission? I test drove a Smart Car a few years ago that has a CVT (continuously variable transmission). The Smart CVT is totally unacceptable because it produces a pronounced 'lurch' when it shifts. I actually felt a bit motion sick from just a short test...
