I don't have smart phone but it looks like a smart phone could do everything that Tracy's wrist radio could do and more. As far as I can remember he could only contact his station and other cops. A cell phone can do a hell of a lot more. Tracy would have liked GPS as well.

I actually had a Dick Tracy Wrist Radio when I was a kid... CB Radio With a Wrist speaker/mic...
