yep, it was closer than we would have liked .... thankfully we got the camper out before water got inside .... here is a link to the CG's website .... we were on site 222 .... when we left the water was up to site 205 .... the folks on both sides of us are living in their campers while they are working on the area .... neither have tow rigs, they pay someone to move them when needed .... one get in his car and left .... the other was trying to get his ready to hookup .... I offered to drop ours up on the hill and come back to try and get his .... he declined .... probably a good thing for us, with the way the water was coming up, I just don't know if I could have gotten our truck to his camper .... my wife plans to call there tomorrow and see what details are available
It was only that creek that went over it's banks? That's crazy.
I saw a couple of the areas around there on the news tonight and they're underwater about 1/3 up all the houses; the insurance company that does Flood Insurance must be going Nutz!

The area where Jim and his wife were staying is very hilly and rocky, and the CG is almost at the bottom. Went down there Saturday when they pulled in to pick up Black Angus steaks/prime rib roasts they got for us during their travels. Pretty sketchy entrance/exit to the campground too with the size of rig Jim has....not to mention in the dark, rudely awakened, soaking wet, and coming down in buckets [I caught the same storm going to work]. Glad to hear you made it to TN safely!

during our drive today my wife called the CG and found out that the rain has stopped and the water level is dropping .... they were able to get all of the campers moved out of the flooded area ..... at its highest point the water was over 3' deep .... biggest problem right now is dealing with the thick layer of mud that the receding water is leaving behind

Yuk, sounds like a mess to clean.
But everyone being safe is much more important.
You still in TN? And where's the next leg of the journey to?

I guess; had enough of the rain have you?
I get high heat this Thursday, Friday and Saturday - low triple digits. They expect to break records Friday and maybe Saturday for hottest days on record here (actually Portland)

I've been in 3 digets heat for the last 4 days, Leaving Friday with a 6 car caravan of G1 Insighters to Sheridan IN for a "Hybridfest" convention next week..
Looks like I will be using the AC a lot. There goes my MPG.

Yes, but look how far South you are (how close are you to the boarder? Looks like you could throw a rock and cross it) compared to where I live.
It's not supposed to get this hot up here.
