On the season finally of Motorweek 9-13-16 they did about a 3 or 4 minute spot on the new breed of 3 wheel cars.
It started with the T-Rex, then the (economy minded) Elio, then the Solo, the Slingshot then back to the T-Rex.
The main point of the spot was about helmets and endorsements; and how it's been changed <get this> everywhere. In the mean time, they are showing more shots of the T-Rex.
The spot just wondered around the topic and never gave any credit to the Elio or Elio Motors; but then again, they didn't credit anyone in particular for getting it changed.

Oh well; we know who did all of the footwork; way to go Elio!

I don't know where they get that from; or maybe it just looks like it might be; the E-series isn't helping, they hear or see E and automatically think "E must mean it's Electric!" They should have called them DT-series (Development and Testing Series).

But thanks for the link Bowers; that is the correct one.

It's eye-opening too see just how much they got wrong on that report. Even beyond the electric gaffe. AutoCycles only need a roof and a steering wheel? The regs I've read required quite a bit more to get a waiver for helmets and license. I know it was a filler segment, but it sounds like MasterHerald is writing their scripts.

Motorweek: Moving the needle backwards.
Motorweek is credible and well respected. Are you sure it's Motorweek and the other media auto reviewers moving the needle backwards? Media reports on news and details available from vehicle manufacturers and test drives. Perhaps EM engineering and EM marketing needs to be on the same page and start coordinating their updates regarding finalized specs with each other and more importantly with the major media outlets to insure accurate and positive information.

New startups cannot afford to many negative industry reviews read by potential Elio customers. Puzzling. My 2 cents.

Sure, every company should have well-run media campaigns, and Elio is no different. EM can certainly benefit from better marketing. With that said, it's not like EM is out there putting forth misinformation or even misleading info about the Elio. What part of "84 mpg" doesn't Motorweek understand? Every EV and plug-in manufacturer reports their mileage rating as "mpg equivalent." That alone should've put Motorweek on notice that this is not an electric vehicle.

At the end of the day, it's the reporter's responsibility to report accurate info, not EM's. A simple call to EM or search of EM's website could've confirmed that fact, as well as the other facts Motorweek muffed. Yes, Motorweek is generally a credible source. But in this instance, they messed up, plain and simple.
