Elio Addict
I couldn't find any mention in previous threads about this concept, so I apologize if it's already been covered.
I was reading about the fairly steep incentives a number of home builders were offering in order to stimulate new home sales (see http://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-REB-27842). And one of the problems with urban sprawl is that it increases congestion and pollution, among other impacts, because of the increased commute. Then I started wondering if EM could help resolve these issues by partnering with some home builders to get them to include an Elio as a purchase incentive to reduce the amount of cash incentives they need to offer. This could be particularly attractive to first time home buyers, many of whom are the younger, less affluent buyers EM is targeting over the long run. How cool would that be -- a free Elio with the purchase of your first home?
Entering into purchase contracts with these builders could provide a predictable income stream for EM that could improve their finances.
Thoughts?
