Once production starts and retail stores begin to open around the country, do you think Elio Motors will continue taking orders on their website? I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't continue.

I heard the same which implies that they will stop taking reservations at some point. But we have seen things change and maybe there will be a new list started.I would imagine they will continue, though I know PE has questioned what they will do with the time between when they close the reservation process and shift to the regular order process.![]()
Right, the issue will be when they close reservations and start production, there will be some amount of down time when they are not taking reservations or selling Elio's, as the factory will be dedicated to filling reservations. That might be a time they build out their regular online ordering system?I heard the same which implies that they will stop taking reservations at some point. pistonboy, got a link to the map?
Paul Elio said in one of his interviews back in 2014 that 250,000 is total capacity for Shreveport and it would take several years, not months, to get to that which is still ambitious - though Ford far out produces that just for F150.250,000 is a lot of vehicles per year and they will be producing this rate after just 3 months. The vast majority of people have not heard of Elio yet. I doubt we reservationist driving our Elios around will be enough advertising to stur up enough demand. I fear there will be an early period when they are producing far more vehicles than they can sell.
Stores in major population centers will open when production starts but will not be able to sell Elios until the reservations are filled. I guess the function of these stores during this time will be to advertise and increase demand for after reservations are filled.
