The wife asked me this morning what size the elio was and that drove me to doing a comparison of the specs listed for her current car (2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx) and the Elio specs published online. I found these quite illuminating:

I measured the bucket seats and the seat width in the Maxx is about 21" or about 1/2" wider than the elio.
