General Information
This is a Social Security Tax Calculator, based on IRS Publication 915

The spreadsheet is for people drawing Social Security who would like to know what taxes
will be incurred by withdrawing various amounts from IRAs, in addition to other income.
To save the file, click the Dropbox link and then click on Download (or the three dots, then Download).

The second sheet, 'Instructions', has information about the 'Input Data' sheet.

lot of work- they got sites, plug in your age, your IRA amounts, and they present the taxes due.

to calculate the % of SS taxed, I put in the last year's amount, add a few bucks, and get a credit/refund. I'm too busy writing on this site to go through, probably one of the most difficult calculations in the personal code.- no penalty for paying a bit too much, btw, I always add a few extra bucks on interest earnings -which really doesn't affect the final number, but requires an extra step for their computers, and just if I get an audit (odds are getting lower every year)- "paper audit" is an easy do. We comply out of fear, and when/if they send me an adjusted amount no big deal- sometimes I get under the wire, sometimes write 'em a check. and when I get past the 5th year I'm good.
In the past I've paid for a professional to do it, and get charged more than all my permutations.
