I don't think we know quite enough about the Elio's powerplant, 400bhp is contrary to the Elio vision, but since we're onto a fantasy powerplant, I'm thinking a micro jet engine burning butane would be a good option.

We need to see how good the bottom end in the engine is but I'm hoping it will hold at least 10 lbs of boost. For now I'm dreaming about a 4 link in back to put 4 wheels on the ground to make it a proper autocrosser and canyon carver. A Miata rear subframe would be really easy to adapt and probably only add about 50 lbs to the car.

PS I get the Elio vision but drive a 425hp Miata and couldn't care less about gas mileage...
