Hurricane Harvey has moved out of the headlines but his aftermath will be felt for many years to come .... Hurricane Irma is coming on the scene ..... its still way to early to know where Irma is headed but a landfall in the Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and even toward the Delmarva Peninsula is all in the realm of possibilities .... best case scenario, the potential remains for the storm to curve northward and miss the East Coast entirely .... what is being projected is, Irma will grow to a Level 4 or higher Hurricane .... it appears the most of the east coast needs to be keeping a close eye on this storm

But didn't it go down to a level 2, and they say it might break up before it hits ground and just turn into a tropical storm?
I guess it depends on what news report you're watching; the only national weather we get is from the Weather Channel, the rest of the weather reports are just local. And we're looking at 90's and 100's for the next 2 to 3 days, possibility of rain Thursday or Friday (we haven't had but 1 day of rain since mid-June)

Irma has been fluctuating in intensity over the past few days, but is expected to strengthen to a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 130-156 mph (209-251 km/h) on its closest approach to the Bahama islands....

above was paraphrase from Accuweather ..... naturally, in the next week that may or may not change umpteen times

while its still to far out to speak with any degree of certainty, one projected track for Hurricane Irma has it coming ashore right at Charleston, SC .... looks like this one is really going to be a dandy

It depends on which station you watch.
I've watched Weather Channel and the Local news (which bites covering East coast weather)
And it looks like it can either hit Florida and go up the eastern seaboard; or cross Florida, into the Gulf, and then turn North.
What version do you have?

basically the same one .... when they put up a map with lines showing the different paths that various computer models are predicting, the one that comes closest to us hits Charleston .... all that said, its way too far off for them to be able to make a firm prediction

your part of the country is beautiful indeed .... we have enjoyed the time we have spent up there during our travels .... as to moving up there, absolutely no way .... philosophically, I simply wouldn't fit in
