I said earlier today that I was going to do this, so here it is.

(Decided to change this to a better upbeat first post)

By now just about everyone on here knows I'm a cat lover.
I have 4 of them Taz 13 All black Abyssinian short hair

Squeak 11 All Black Rag-A-Muffin Long hair

Missy 6 Mixed color Manx short hair

and my baby Techie 4 Orange/White Mutt short hair

They all get along for the most part; of course the two young ones love to pick on the older ones

And being the adventurer that she is, Missy will occasionally get to places she really doesn't belong

(She's about 30' off the ground chasing birds; notice that branch she's on, she weighs 15lbs)
But when you tell her to get down, she'll agree (when she feels like it) and that stubbly little tail
does help her with balance

So that's my happy little group of furry "kids".
The biggest spoiled babies in the world.

Yes. that is definitely true. We got two new kittens last year, about 12 weeks old. 3/4 Russian Blue, and practically impossible to tell apart. This spring they both insisted on being indoor/outdoor cats. We tried to keep them in, but couldn't, so we got them chipped and let them go. Almost immediately the "gifts" starting showing up on our doormat. Mice. Moles. A chipmunk. Even a bat.

Our cats go outside, but only to the back yard. I built this fence top "retainer" that keeps them from getting out, and any other cats from getting in.
Total price to do my whole back yard? About $300; it's all 1/2" PVC, plastic deer netting and wire ties.

Simple to make, I'll send the measurements to anyone that wants them.
The reason it works; cats can't jump straight up to 7 to 8 feet and then in, the deer netting hurts paws, and has a lot of "give".
Cats on the outside don't like surfaces that have a lot of "give" it feels insecure to them, plus deer netting hurts paws. When the want to jump down from height, they want to jump straight down; not up 1 to 2 feet, out the same distance then down. I got the idea from a Zoo structure.
