Finally we have a bill! It is searchable an followable, so fellow Mainers, now is the time to let your local legislators know what you think!

Now the fun begins, we have an LD! As Rep Golden and I agreed, the bill is a place holder so we can get our proposals for bill language (I've already sent him some) together, for two potential paths Maine DMV might want to argue; 1) autocycle category, or 2) amended existing motorcycle statute exempting helmets for under age passengers and exempting motorcycle endorsement requirement.

Big news at the Federal level, Senator Vitter from Louisiana has just introduced an Act to Congress to define "autocycles" this is huge, however Maine still needs to get its own statutes in line, so again, I ask any and all Mainers to contact their local Legislators and ask them to support LD 687.
