A $7800 low-range BEV isn't competition for Tesla. That's like saying the Mitsu Mirage is competition for a BMW 3-series. Battery-swap has been tried before (a'la Better Place), though they are being reintroduced in some markets for vehicle sharing (specifically scooters).

The "Tesla Rival/Killer" click-bait nonsense from the media knows no bounds.
