Dunno, never heard the rumor.
I did see where more of the little trucks have the bed connected to the cab; like they did with the Honda Ridgeline; so it is more "car like" than truck like (aka body on frame).
A Fiat Pickup? Is that based on the 500X chassis too? They have the Jeep Renegade built on it. The 500X is the 4dr. platform; they do their little SUV on it too.
But this isn't really new, VW did it; that was a cool worthless pickup based on the Rabbit platform from 78-84
What killed it was the "Chicken" tax; they do have another one in the works.
