Rolling Elio dummies for advertising

Back "in the day"

CORBINMOTORS. MADE A SMALL FLEET OF "rollers"

These we simple fiberglass shells mounted on a frame with wheels

The glass was actually just painted fiberglass giving the impression of glass !

These rollers were used at all the shows to promote the vehicle ...

A simple looped digital recorder could play a 15 minute sales pitch as interest people would just stand and take it all in ...

Funniest thing was watching people stick their noses right up to what they "perceived" was glass, so the could see the inside!

If these cost $1000. Each they could be sitting at shopping malls, State Fairs, etc etc etc

Then when no longer needed they could be raffled off to owners who want that "all in". But are afraid of a tattoo !!!

What abut AIRPORTS ?? Who is the best market profile ? Commuting businessmen ..

Where do you find them ? At AIRPORTS !

Have an Elio sitting at a busy location at Chicago Ohare !

Then get the Airlines to do a story in their inflight magazines !

American Airlines did one on the Corbin Sparrow !

Watch out for the four letter word .....

SCAM .....

IF YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH THE ONE WORD THAT STICKS UP ..

SCAM ...

IN MY OPINION, IF THE WORD SCAM POPS UP JUST ONE TIME, IT CAN BE ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING TO A START UP !

What bothers me most, right now, Pep Boys does NOT HAVE ONE WORD ON THEIR WEBSITE ABOUT ELIO. ...

WHY ..

Pep Boys does not have a great reputation, but that can be fixed ...

Check out the Ducati Scrambler ...

After a 6 months "claymation". Advertising , it was finally debuted this week to overwhelming success !!!!!

Slightly off your topic, the Maryland State Police use dummy police cars to slow speeders. They place them in the medium of divided highways to be seen. They are fiberglass models only about a foot thick, but a complete profile. After a good paint job, they sure got at least my attention.

I like the idea of "rollers" or even full scale models that don't roll. You could just put them on a flatbed truck and park at a mall to draw a crowd. On Pep Boys, I'm no expert but our local PB store seems ok to me. I think most repair shop chains (of which there are few) have mixed reputations because of the nature of the business.
