I think we have all agreed that vehicles directly similar to the BEX-Built Mongrel would only be helpful at this point.

But in the future maybe some other craft could be ahmmm, distracting ?
It would take major thinking/development on implementing and controlling an aerial highway(sim; Bladerunner).
Case 2..

This guy(Jetson) kind of says to me maybe there is a better way to save the Manatees, rather than hitting them with boats. (but no skiing with this, hmm or maybe you could, people will try anything) But then bird strike? Oh well.

Then of course this concept. (real or mock-up?)

There is one case where this would be really good. If you lived on one of the islands across from Seattle, it is very inconvenient to wait for a ferry every two hours, or whatever. With a PQC you could fly across in 5-10 minutes, and park it in a car space at a private lot. Wouldn't be a stretch to attach some small wheels on it as a urban-speed vehicle. But maybe just pack your electric skateboard.

Anyone spending this kind of money would rent a space keeping a day car (my BEX) there, and a space for the PQC. (Personal Quad-Copter)
PS, this one floats, (probably) so no flight over the city is required, maybe park at a marina. (BlackFly, price=SUV+/-)

The open props seem to be a disaster waiting to happen. All of these drones - and drone like vehicles will need to have dummy proof guards around the props. People will be walking into them left and right.

folks can barely make it across streets safely. Heads are buried in phones.

Essentially PQC's change nothing from the current use of ultra-light aircraft and miniature helicopters, unless the pricing goes below a rich-man's budget.

If it ever does, then multitudes of the things could be in play. Only then do we start to have all sorts of use problems. Current aircraft have all those same problems, only the pricing limits the potential impact, by the shear fact of low volume sales..

But by the time these are well developed at a low cost, new rules will probably require locked in systems such as skyway autopilot etc.
That is, when in the vicinity of a city (or controlled air-space), the craft will only auto-fly along designated corridors. And such controls will jack the price and weight back up into the rich-man's budget range for many years to come.

They will have to control this at the manufacturer, as they do for guns. No others will be allowed to build or sell them.

But admittedly, the rules will probably only be implemented when troubling issues occur. Knowing how crazy people are, that won't take too long. (omni-hoverboards)
