Hi. I just became aware of the Elio last week and have been reading about it daily. Will be going all in at the $100 non-refundable level soon.
I am a committed minimalist and this car looks perfect for me. I can't stomach the idea of paying $20,000 and up for a new car, with payments and insurance, to get reliability and semi decent mileage.
It's perfect for me as a single guy, no kids, works out of my house and currently has a car but uses a bike for my main transportation. I'm actually most interested in the Elio for road trips. Looks like it would be fun for that, with the bonus of high MPG and (hopefully) the reliability of a new vehicle.
Looking forward to see how all this plays out, but I think the time is right for this product.
