Tesla X Schedule Slip (part 3?)

Elio isn't alone rescheduling the introduction of a new vehicle. Apparently the Tesla Model X schedule has slipped for the 3rd time, to late 2015 (from an original target of 2013). Sounds sort of familiar

Thanks Bilbo. Love the spin on the 3rd delay for their SUV... "Doing so negatively affects the short term, but positively affects the long term".

Thinking of 2013 in general, it seems a lot longer than one year ago, no? All this talk about 2015, last year seems like 3-4 yrs ago.

I explored some, my first time researching anything Tesla... I noticed that Tesla Motors got a $10 mmmmmmmillion grant from state of CA for Model X development. When did they get that, you ask?

Oct 2012. Not a LOAN. A grant. I understand that $10 mill is a drop in the bucket, but they've had that money for 2+ years and now have 3 delays and ... harrumph!! lol

You are right, it's a tiny bit gratifying to see it happen to another startup company. Just a tiny bit. Very small.

I have a lot of respect for Elon Musk. Between Tesla and SpaceX, he's shaking things up in a big way. It was reassuring that even with his resources, product introductions slip. Makes what PE is doing look even more impressive.

Read that today on financial page, thought Great we're not the only ones waiting! Nice thing is, I don't need $80,000 to pay for my Elio! Mr. Musk has a great vehicle for the top 20% income bracket. The rest of us will just have to wait for the Elio!

I think the Model X buyers will wait for it. I think they are avoiding any possible issues like they had at the Model S intro. I have read some Tesla forums seems many are on the iPhone upgrade path but with cars. The P85D model are making them feel butt hurt because they don't have the latest greatest. Its fine by me by them paying out the butt they finance the development of the company and cars. So one day the Tesla tech can get 30K$ cheap one day.

Having the cash I would definitely buy one. P85+ is fine I don't need the D
