If the production intake and exhaust manifolds are anything like the ones in the P5 there's probably not much benefit to be had from replacing them. They look to be rather free-flowing designs as-is. It's nothing like the 300 inline six I have in my old Ford. That thing had log style manifolds and a tiny 1-barrel carb. Replacing the manifolds and adding a new 4-barrel carburetor to that should add ~60 hp and ~115 lb-ft of torque to that motor.
You can "fix" anything. The question is "Is it worth the time and effort ?"
