The new Elios needs a designation to distinguish them from all the future Elios to follow.

So, two questions need to be answered. What do we call it and how do we mark it? I don't know if I like the name and design shown below but I hope it will get some of you thinking. Let's see if we can come up with a winner of a name. And please, try to resist the joke names, Elio Weeneo is not funny!

The Delorean was officially the DMC-12 . But the car was always simply referred to as the Delorean .
The 1st genesis of the Elio could be named " Eternity " as that is how long it feels we've been waiting . But the vehicle will likely be called an Elio forever.

That was fast! Let's keep the ideas coming in. I don't know anything about how the pros name cars, but I do think it is best to keep it short and "mean something". Also, the Elio already looks like a toy to some people so I would think it would be best to make it a serious designation. I would hate to see it named after some animal for instance.

Just hit 300 posts. Do I win a cigar or something? :clap2:

So does that mean "Tonka" is out?

Oh. I just had a thought. Since it has three wheels, how about "Big Wheel" (as in the kids tricycle).

Interesting! I didn't know that. I'm still on the fence about that stuff. I've never installed it, or had it installed on any of my vehicles, but "they say" your exhaust will rust out faster since the wrap absorbs moisture after the pipe cools down. I've never seen anything that proves it one way or another.

Yes, I recently bought a stainless steel header for my Tracker, as the cast Iron Manifold is no longer available. I thought about using the "wrap". I also read about the rust issue. I also read that "retaining" exhaust heat causes the metal to fatigue and degrade much faster. Oh, and the header manufacturer would void my warranty.

The early Elio model is the pioneering model.

Applicable and does mean something, but I agree it is not the best sounding.
Well, lots of the good names are already taken. WE're going to have to go "out there" to be original. Can't name it after American Indian tribes -- too much possible copyright infringement; besides, the military has that locked up with the naming convention on helicopters.

My first thought would be to use the names of items in physics. Lots of names there that express something small and fast:
Elio Quanta ("A quantum leap in auto design!")
Elio Neutrino
Elio Tachyon

Or we could go rocket based:
Elio Vanguard
