.....So what comes to mind is, which E is this? I don't think it's the E1A I think it might be the E1C
NOT with those gauges.........the E1C is "supposed" to be the HISTORY vehicle...showing all upgrades........the dash is NOT one of them !!!

See how nicely those gauges fit in the stock Elio dash? :D
Oh, Yea :D

Slow news days... waiting for something exciting to talk about here. So.
The hernia is still bothering me, so I reopened my question to Elio.

" This is a follow-up to your previous request #93684 "Other"

Hello, The exhaust run is still on my mind. It is fully enclosed, so where does the heat dissipate to ?

I think it better to run it between the body and frame, with a heat shield above and open air below, to enable the heat to escape to open air if possible. This could possibly allow a simpler smoother design, better heat dissipation, and a lower manufacture cost.

Best wishes, and I am really looking forward to seeing a finalized ELIO. "

Re-opened your hernia?

(needs another patch)

How did you come up with that? It's been stated (by EM) that the E1C is the "Marketing" Elio and the primary display vehicle with all of the finalized items that will be on the production model.
I've never heard it said before that it's supposed to be a "History" Elio.

Maybe wizard meant that the E-1C is meant to convey the completion of Paul's journey to a production-ready Elio (i.e., HIS story). :p

Heck, I could even do without the thin, chromed plastic bezels on some of the gauges. I think that's much better, though. Here's hoping it or something like it is the base equipment, and the Elgin is an option.

Slightly disappointed at what appears to be the front face shape (i.e., non-DIN) of the head unit/receiver, though- I think somebody else mentioned it further back. Does anybody know how large that receiver's faceplate is, or failing that what the rough diameter of the steering wheel is on the E-series? I want to try to scale that faceplate, see if it's really about the size it looks to be. Still, small potatoes for now.

I've got all the specs on the gauges. The gauge area is 4"X9" the gauge sizes are 3 3/8"
And replacing them is a lot more involved that it first appears.
If you have ever done custom dashes; you'll know what I'm talking about; radio's are not the same.

Oh, I don't want any part of monkeying with an instrument cluster. I was just considering the head unit, and planned to use other known dimensions for a quick-n-dirty size estimate on the radio's faceplate. Thanks for the info!
