Today the website says 14623, yes? But that includes refundable deposits.
So I made some calculations. The magic number seems to be 30,000. That is the number of reservations that commits 204million in gross sales. Since that is what it takes to fully fund the Elio, I would guess that corporate investment or institutional lending could very well be enabled against that commitment from customers.
At the current rate, and considering how it might vary, I would say 30,000 deposits could be reached between July 1st and Oct 15.
If the rate continue exactly as it is now, around July 15th we'll see 25,000 reservations. Which is about 170m in customer commitment.
So I can see a good reason to stay on the road and keep the reservation program going until the 30k count is in the bag.

That's a big "if" corporate investment or institutional lending against future sales. More than likely, Elio(a start up) will still need collateral at least equal to the loan they are taking out. Right now they don't really own anything. Ideally Elio gets all in $1k deposits for the first year of production, and all in $1k for half of second year production (even though they said would not take reservations after 1st year of production sold out, they should reconsider).

Latest #'s. Slight dip in rate, not bad for holiday week with little promotion.

520 new reservations is a good week considering the P4 was not on public display at all this week. Most of these are probably stragglers from the busy Barrett-Jackson showing last weekend. It was also on The Weather Channel which could have brought in some extra people also.

That is the lowest weekly number reported in 7 weeks. Disappointed.

I think a couple of billboards along major highways/interstates could spur additional interest that would certainly offset the cost of them.

I drive the interstate system routinely. I do NOT do FaceBook and know of may others that do not use it either. Perhaps I'm just an out of touch old fogy
