So at 70-75mph I wonder if we'll still be able to hit 70+mpg?

Sooo many variables. Everyone's circumstances are different...."flat lands" or mountains? Heavy traffic or light? Heavy "foot" or light? New York or Rural Texas? Regular or Premium gas? Boxers or briefs?...ok, maybe that last one won't matter. :noidea: :becky:

Boxers or briefs will only matter to those that decide putting pants on is optional in retirement.

New Research Shows Dangers of Distracted Driving
The research from AAA shows you can be distracted for up to 27 seconds after putting down your phone.

A 58-year-old man took distracted driving to another level when he crashed his car and died while trying to watch a pornographic video on his phone.

According to Michigan State Police, the pantless driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was apparently pleasuring himself when the car rolled over on an Interstate 75 onramp in Detroit early Sunday morning, partially ejecting him from the sunroof of his 1996 Toyota and killing him. Fortunately, no other cars were involved in the fatal wreck.

Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw told CBS Detroit that it’s the strangest incident he’s encountered on the road.

“We see people putting on makeup, we see people doing different things as far as hygiene, as far as reading books, it’s almost to the fact there’s so much technology out there a lot of people are more paying attention to what they’re doing other than driving their cars,” Shaw said.

While fatal incidents involving cell phones haven’t increased in recent years, the number of people injured from distracting driving has–according to the NHTSA, 424,000 people were reported injured from incidents in 2013, up from 421,000 in 2012. Although teen drivers have the highest reported incidences, some studies have shown that older drivers can be more susceptible to errors when distracted.

Clearly there were multiple lapses in judgment in this instance, and as AT&T’s texting and driving campaign goes–it really can wait.

At least where I'm at, it would be relatively flat. I wouldn't expect to get max gas mileage going up hill. But I have a relatively light foot when driving, specifically because I'm trying not to waste gas. Traffic around me is relative light, but I'm talking more freeway driving.

Like if I make the drive from Reno to LV, that's not a bad road. It's relatively little traffic and pretty much flat. Something like that is where I wonder if 70+mpg is still doable going 75mph with the A/C on. (Even 50+mpg would still be outstanding, but I'd just like to know how far over 65mph we can go and still hope to get exceptional MPGs....like 70+)

I am guessing...you already keep pretty close tabs on your mileage. So, I think you can probably make a petty good guess based on, how your mileage compares, with the makers rating for your vehicle. Keeping in mind that some automakers have been pretty liberal with their numbers. And EM (just my opinion) "I think," will be pretty realistic about their numbers. :)

EM will have to make sure to meet their claims, they are going to be under a microscope from first day they get to the general public; if they're off more than what 5% the media will be all over them. Paul wants to sell 250,000 a year and the only way he's going to be able to do that is deliver what he promised.
