Absolutely, a very real danger, now that you point it out.
H.N. being what it is, there will undoubtably be numbskulls that will fuel while the vehicle is running.
Since I refuse to submit my personal info to the world via farcebook...
Could someone with an account please ask EM about this subject and share their response?

Like you, I don't have a Facebook account. They strip the copyright data from your photographs and claim the right to sell them without notification or compensation. And they're foo damn nosy!

With you also on the filler opening.

Subtleties...View attachment 5863

Smaller rear wheel shroud
Restyled front wheel shrouds
Restyled side view mirrors, body color not black
Extended nose and reduced intake grille opening
Concealed windshield wiper
Integrated exhaust outlet
Lower rocker valence profile extended towards front
Flattened rear spoiler (no upwards curvature)
Smaller rear wheel diameter
Chassis height raised in front
I'm surprised you didn't comment on the strongly different headlight fairings. I liked the "eyes" on the P4 -- these look much more conventional in a sporty sort of way, but are definitely not as "cute."

Overall, this iteration seems to make good sense, but it's much more "mainstream" and "vanilla" in its design lines -- especially the hood line and the headlamp fairings. The roofline doesn't seem to drop so sharply down in back (like the old Citroen 2cv) as it used to -- car will look better seen from behind. Overall effect -- looks more polished, but less "cool." Probably good for sales!

The headlight fairings change is a pity, though.

A concern I've had for some time is the vulnerability of the snout if the person who parked in front of you is a little careless backing up. What sort of crash resistance (the 4mph kind) do you suppose this has? Or are they going to be really cheap to replace?

The part I liked was ............"but according to reports, the previous models were about 55 horsepower"..........

What previous models. They were muels.
Ali Aslani seem to make some of this stuff up as he (?) goes.
Facts? Who need facts?

I like everything they did including the exhaust outlet. I like the longer nose as well. In the pictures there appears to be a circle that maybe the gas door. I would hope they would consider having the gas door on the other side near the car door for easy fueling. Also away from the exhaust outlet, if gas dripped down it could be an issue or maybe hot exhaust tip near your legs may be an issue. Just a thought. Otherwise I like the blue too!
LOL!!!! No, not near the only exit!!!

That blue is sexy and will sell like crazy. Demand will far exceed supply.

The integrated exhaust is a surprise and elegant but the fuel port above the exhaust outlet scars me to death. Human nature is what it is and this is a safety hazard. Careless refueling, tank overfilling at the fuel pump, fuel spilling out around corners - this could be a disaster waiting to happen. This could be the subject of Ralph Naders next book. EM has done such an excellent job on every other aspect of the Elio, what are they thinking here? The exhaust outlet is where it needs to be - away from the door, move the fuel door to the drivers side and we'll all be happy. Its worth another $10 to put the fuel port where it belongs.
Fuel spilling out around corners? I've never seen fuel spill out of any car in my 30 years of driving... Even my 1965 Mustang didn't spill fuel. I did, however, manage to break both motor mounts jumping a RR crossing (no train coming) but that's another story. I'd rather the fuel fill from the right anyway. It isn't like the exhaust pipe will be hot enough at that point to be an issue and I just don't care to have the stench and fumes just outside my only door.
