I really like the idea of a long chromed (considering a warmer nickle-plate) upswept pipe exiting somewhere near the rear wheel hub, ending in a slight megaphone. To be determined yet is the "voice" of the Elio engine. My Civic needed to be quiet, that little 4-banger was some kind of ugly without some silencing. However my Opel was quiet, but when I removed the resonator and replaced it with straight pipe, it could sneak around when necessary, but release a surprising howl as it approached the redline with a crackling burble on the overrun. Son of Lotus! Little German engines aren't supposed to do that!

I always laugh at people trying to make GE T58s sound tough. Sounds like a leaf blower to me. Can't wait to get the Mazda Rotary built in the next couple of weeks for my jet boat. That'll play some wicked... Oh, wait...nevermind. LOL
Now you're talking.

And here's why ArthurKent would commit a hate crime against me: http ://vimeo.com/23842625 ;)

That's already been done! You plug it into the cigar lighter and tune your radio to it. Look up "Soundracer".
Well I tried one out on my smart. It tried to work but could not read the RPM very well and kept falling back to an idle. But if they would tap in to the OBD II port and pick up real RPM and throttle position, then make it easy to up date the sound file. Then they would have something! Right now it's just a toy, and not a very good one.
