That's so hard to deal with.

We raise children to reach a certain age, and then go out on their own.
We raise animals to be companions for their whole life.
This is why when we lose them it hurts so much.

I rescued Rags (Shih Tzu) 11 years ago. He is getting weak in his hips, but he still dances in circles when I come home from work. Sometimes he falls down when he is dancing, but it is still a special time for me and Rags. We own a boarding kennel. My wife had to leave the stray dog that adopted and protected her on the streets of Bangkok when she immigrated to America. She now pays it forward in the boarding kennel. She gives special care to the aging dogs.

Interesting quote since I live about 20 miles from a local bridge opened in 1936 which is known as the Rainbow Bridge between Bridge City and Port Arthur.

Dogs are AWESOME!! Got a little teary watching that. Awfully close to looking like my big buddy Momo [Malamute/Akita]. I'll have to find a pic and post it.
