Yup, thats just what I noticed. Tires going over bumps over time would just beat themselves to death. But they are made of rubber so they are fairly noise free. Those tire boots will be like snare drums. The sheet metal alone will be anouncing every bump. They need to be seperated from the bouncing tire to achieve a new level of quiet. The Prowler has a tiny rain shield to keep the noise to a minimum. The Elio could do the same thing, but then the bodywork would be pelted by loose gravel and debrief. So Ill be looking to work out a mount like I described. I hope the boot noise doesnt make the car seem cheap as the first production hits the street. Haters will be picking at everything they can find to label it a death trap.
Well when you see who lines up for help wanted signs in my neck of the woods, the deep pockets throw their hands up and switch to robot ideas.

Agreed. Totally doable.
Lightweight, rubber against metal, secure fasteners, etc. Maybe the fenders will not end up being metal, and instead one piece plastic.

Yea, AI is HUGE danger in our future. Terminator is a great movie but it is like a REAL crystal ball. I dont give a crap about global warming. Because the robot war is going to get us if we cant wise people up to it. Its a very real addiction. When I write code for a machine, I am obssesed with making it clever top rate code. And lots of coders are the same way. And we already got deranged nut jobs making the sneekiest virus codes. Somebody somewhere soon will end up taking their code just a bit too far and the code will start evolving on its own. And with all future machines being plugged into the web, we may suddenly be deep in crisis before we even know there was a crisis. The other danger is biological attack. When we start making cheap DNA creating machines the size of breadbaskets, some nimrod trying to make a dinosaur might accidently make a new virus that gets out and starts mowing down the population. And all this could happen in my lifetime.

Well I never saw it as a contest. Even as a kid I tore everything apart I got my hands on to figure how it ticks. So it was really natural where my life went. I have a very bad memory so I would be a lousy doctor. But engineering is a thinking thing. So for me figuring things out is like sweeping a floor.
