Hello from Illinois! I wish to drive my Elio from Chicago to Ottawa so I contacted the Canadian Consulate in Chicago. They referred me to a website that listed the cars that can be imported into Canada. Elio was not on the list so I cannot drive it to Canada until Elio has been approved for import. Other Canadians have said that they had contacted their MP. Contact your MP. I also have suggested that Elio Owners start a Canada forum. These import problems and access to Canada more than justify a Canada Forum. Maybe we could have an Elio convention at Lake Louise! Until then, keep the beer cold and the girls warm!We do have other members from across Canada that also have their reservations in.
Getting it across the boarder is something you may want to talk to them about if you do have plans for putting in a reservation.
I have no knowledge of Canada's import requirements, but it seems unlikely a vehicle can be approved for import before it's actually in production. They referred me to a website that listed the cars that can be imported into Canada. Excellent, another good reason to have a Canada forum. During my aforementioned research, I started digging by using the Google search argument: Canadian automobile import laws . Google still remembers that I used https://www.canada.ca/en/services/transport/road/importing-vehicle.htmlI have no knowledge of Canada's import requirements, but it seems unlikely a vehicle can be approved for import before it's actually in production.
You are saying it wrong, just deal with it.I'm married to a Canadian (16 yrs now ) and her accent slips out at times; she still swears that I say garage and roof wrong.
