Thomas I don't think you've been around long enough to realize that's the last thing we are! I will admit there are some who fit the description but there are a lot more of us that do not! Some of us have gotten off track at times and have corrected our selves, with out the need of a moderator. I don't know what happened with LockMD and the locked thread but I am sorry he has chosen to leave.

When looking at who is logged on, we see members, guests and robots. What are robots? What do they do? Are they evil?

from what I've been told, they are search engines .... someone types in Elio in a Google Search (or whatever search engine) their software sends out "robots" to find the info .... that certainly could be wrong and if so I hope someone with far more knowledge will respond

You're pretty spot on JEBar; the bots are here to make the site searchable.
They also carry those ads you see at the top and bottom of the page.
We had a case a few days ago that someone put up a thread heading that read pretty negative; those bots had already gleeped onto it and set it back to the main databases.
So the bots are from Google, Ask, Yahoo and all of the other search engines.
Not really bad or evil unless you feed them bad or evil information.
