Maybe I missed it, but has anyone read the news about Pep Boys being up for sale ? I have read items on Yahoo and MSN about this. I don't know if this would effect us or not.

Read stuff about Pep Boys, but it was in the nature of investment groups making unsolicited offers.
Speculation on my part........ People see the Elio deal with Pep Boys as growing, ongoing cash flow.

FYI...Bridgestone runs Firestone auto care centers as well .

I love the shop here in East York PA. very well run and always great service.

interesting .... with them trying to gain a big increase in retail locations for their tires I can't help butI wonder how Bridgestone will feel about selling Cooper tires in their stores

IF this happens, and IF they commit to the service partner plans with EM, it should provide a huge boost for potential Elio buyers knowing there would be more, and potentially closer, service locations.

I hope so. Firestone shops are all around me. Pep Boys is 150+ miles. I've no idea if the Firestone shops are any good, but local is better than a 3 hour drive.

Is Bridgestone somehow affiliated with Firestone? Just wondering because John's original post was referring to Bridgestone buying out Pep Boys.
