Low octane fuel burns faster
High octane fuel burns slow
Those are common misconceptions. They burn at the same rate. The octane affects resistance to detonation, not burn rate.

First answers I can think of are sputtered cylinder linings, cam cover with integrated bearing bosses, single overhead cam, and timing chain instead of a belt.
