Our 1990, 6 cyl Ford Ranger. The Elio will become the one used for commuting and fun traveling (in most cases) and the Honda Fit (while usually getting between 32 to 35mpg) will be the one used for short haul stuff, except maybe in tougher snowy conditions. We'll see.
Like a lot of us, my Elio will replace my motorcycle. I've ridden without injury for the past fifty years and I think it's time to stop tempting fate.
Over the years of riding I've been very very cold and very very hot so a heated or air conditioned ride is oh so appealing!
Nothing. I'm still not sure where I'm going to put the thing. It could replace my Mazda3, but the idea of ditching my 7 year old Mazda3 with only 36k miles pains me.
Just an update: turned my leased Nissan Maxima in to dealer Nov 10 th. I usually go to store, library and church so not missing transportation much. I have friends giving me rides to those and I loaded my pantry and freezer so can go long time except for perishables. TBH not having a vehicle sitting there for my whims bothered me more than I expected. A former neighbor offered to loan me a clunker but that turned out to be beer talk. A long time friend has said he will loan me his 1977 Corvette after water pump is replaced. It is nice to have that former car payment $509/month in my bank. I am enjoying retirement.
2010 BMW 335d -> 2011 BMW 335d -> 2015 Subaru WRX -> 2014 BMW 328i. The Elio will not replace the 328i. Hands down the best mix of driving thrill and sheer luxury I have ever encountered. The Elio will be my oft daily driver just to use less gas and ease my conscience.
