I reserved 1k all in last year around this time thinking that production date was set in stone for Nov 2015. I drive 100 miles/day, my truck gets 14 mpg and it has over 200,000 miles on it (mostly highway). The longer they put off production the more $$$ I throw away at the pump and repair shop for replacement parts. I was looking at buying another bike but saw the benefits of an Elio (airbags, out of the weather, and golf clubs). If they continue pushing the production date out I may have to buy a bike.

devoncope, it takes patience to own an Elio. Most of us are hoping we have the patience (all in since Oct 2013)

While waiting on ELIO 8019 I went with plan B. Add a side car to my 20 year old fatboy.

Disappointed for the delays especially since the "grim Reaper" is getting closer.

Ooooooh how I agree with you Jim! Like the phrase; "Remember the Alamo," I often think about "remember our dear friend, Zelio." She saved and scrimped and we took up collections to help her realize her dream. . . . . . . Only to see it stollen from her by the Grim Reaper. :(

I have tried to put it out of my mind and not really pay much attention to delays.
I do have to make decisions based on my current needs and now I find myself in need of a new or newer car.
What am I to do?
I am making decisions right now based on not getting an Elio.
That is not my want nor what I want to believe, but that is my reality.
How are the rest of you fairing on these types of decisions?

P.S. the anti Elio crowd does not need to weigh in on this. Only want to hear from those that have some skin into the game.

I made the decision, AT THE SAME TIME THAT I MADE MY FIRST RESERVATION, that I wanted to support this concept, with a COMPLETE acceptance of the terms. If everyone had done the same, there would be no negativism. If, BIG IF, Elio Motors fails, it will not be for lack of effort!!! When taking any investment risk, each person should understand, deep within themselves, how they will feel and react with various outcomes from the investment; it's important to their own mental health, to the market, and to the American dream. THAT (the fact that so many individuals do not think through all the possible outcomes) is precisely WHY Regulation A+ has been so long in coming into existence! Personally, IF (again BIG if) the Elio is never mass produced, I will NOT be mad, not be embarrassed, not be humiliated; I will be a bit sad just because it would be such a good thing for so many people and for our country and it's economy, but it is a massive undertaking with many possible outcomes. Although it would have been better for each person to have analyzed the risks before making commitments, it would still be beneficial for each person to COME TO GRIPS with their own feelings based on all the possible outcomes—then, just get back to making the best of every day. I DO so enjoy the journey; I feel like I have met so many interesting people and learned much from them; I'll have to admit that what I have gotten from the journey actually is not an outcome that I considered when I made my decision, but it has been a really nice bonus!
