I'll bet! Lot of nothing between Denver and Boulder back in the day. Not even sure if the cops had radar.

1972 BMW 2002 Tii. patched the
tires at 100....sweet!

I really like these!
Reasons: 1)No need to change tires. 2)No need to "store" snow tires. 3) they fit "all of you're vehicles! 4) "on & off" in minutes.

Those are sweet! I was checking out their website a couple years ago. Crazy expensive unless you live in Russia or Alaska and have to deal with snow/ice on a regular basis. If the weather gets that bad, I'm staying home, or taking the F250 4x4.

$399 is a lot for chains, but not bad compared to snow tires. However, the benefit to snow tires is that you aren't putting miles on your regular tires. With my Outback, it saves me a very slight amount of money to use snow tires. Basically, the cost per mile is slightly lower than the cost per mile on the all-seasons. I'm on my 5th winter with the General Altimax Arctics, and it will probably be their last. However, I will leave them on for a while... Maybe until summer. Then I'll get a new set in time for next winter. It'll be an even better deal, because the wheels are already paid for.

On my Abarth, it isn't quite so sweet because I opted to get a nice set of wheels with TPMS sensors installed for the snow tires. Still, the snow tires cost a little less than the summer tires that came with the car, and should last longer -- the original tires are Pirelli Zero Neros that tend to wear out in 20-25k miles. The snow tires are Pirelli SnowControl Serie 3, which are just about the only ones I could find in the right size. The tires were about $97/ea, but with the wheels, sensors, mounting/balancing, and road hazard protection, they came to just over $1,000. Of course, the wheels and sensors should last a long time... I will just have to replace the tires in a few years.

Let's say the snow tires work well for 40,000 miles. That's 2 sets of the OEM tires I'll be saving! The OEM tires are about $125/WA, so that's $1,000 plus mounting and balancing x2. So, it really is a wash... Plus I get the benefit of having proper tires for the seasons.
