I wonder if "Evelyn" is actually one of those article-writing computer algorithms we've been hearing about. Hard to believe that a person who can feed themself would put these two sentences one after the other:

It sounds too good to be true: designed and made in America, gets around 85 mpg, and costs under $7,000.

That’s the promise of the Elio E-Series, an electric car Paul Elio and his backers hope will be rolling off the assembly line of a former General Motors plant in Shreveport, La., later this year.

Remember when reporters used to have to check their information rather than just making it up?
This new generation of reporters must have decided that took too much work and effort and went into creative writing to improve readership; who needs facts? They just get in the way of being creative.

She should go and write story books for kids, she sounds like she'd be better at it.

Don't be too hard on her though, she's just following the example of network "news" over the last 40 years.
