I was just playing with the configurator. There is now (as of 08/08/2016) a HUD option under convenience for $479.

Nice. It will be interesting to see what functionality it brings. I would hope it would display speed, but also mentions connectivity to blind spot cameras and backup camera too. From the picture it looks like it supports display of navigation and speed but that could just be a random mock up.

Also, I see there are now options for bike/surfboard/ski roof racks ($136 - $188)!!!

And a custom car cover option for $178. After looking around at custom covers for the Miata, that is actually not a bad price assuming it is good quality.

Yep, I just bought one for the Infiniti at $40. Works great. Not ideal because the windshield isn't designed for it, but very readable.
When I first bought my '08 'Vette, I thought the HUD was a nice "trinket". After driving with it for a few months I wondered how I've gotten along without it.

The one for the Elio has its own screen so should work pretty well.

Is there one of those that reads backwards (like in a rearview mirror) that you can have as a windshield shade strip?
I think it would be more effective.
But the front car should have a rear license which should say
SPIKE DEPLOYMENT ENABLED.

I've been known to be a royal pain with tailgaters, particularly when I'm driving at or over the speed limit.

Well at least here in Washington The State, the inside lane (left lane) is a passing lane--it is literally illegal to just drive at or below the speed limit unless traffic is completely backed up. This is because it is less safe for cars to be forced to pass on the right.

Passing is for rural jurisdictions. There's always two or three lanes at full capacity around here.

But here's an idea. Just drive the speed limit and back off from those who are no matter which lane they happen to be in.

You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Then get over into the right lane and they won't tailgate you.
The people in the right lane are driving slower than I am. That's usually the case with tailgaters. They just want to intimidate others like any other bully. I don't put up with it and have no regard for those who behave badly just because they are behind the wheel.
