But you're in New Castle, Pennsylvania; you would ride a bicycle to LA. to pick it up? That's like over 1,000 miles!

The factory destination charge is added to the base price. So wouldn't you think they would deliver it close to were you live or the closest Pep boys store
near you since they have no distribution store yet?

A question that has not been answered by Elio (and may not be until production is closer) is will the retail stores and distribution hubs be up and running before all in reservation production and delivery starts. My SIL number is 14671 and my guess is that a very smooth delivery process will be in place by the time production starts on my Elio. Still, I have toyed with the thought of taking delivery at the factory and driving it home (Topeka, KS). I have driven on the Natchez Trace a couple of years ago from just outside of Columbus, MS. to Natchez and its a beautiful drive. I can take a bus from my home town to Shreveport, stay in a motel for a night and taxi to the factory for pickup. But I wonder if this will be one of the delivery options for us SIL holders. And will that mean an adjustment on the delivery charge. Otherwise, I will just take delivery at the proposed retail store that will probably be located in the Kansas City metro area or the distribution hub that I am guessing will be somewhere near St. Louis.

That's a possibility too. But way less fun than driving my new Elio home!

No. They have already stated that vehicle delivery will start before the first retail centers open. There will be an as-yet-unspecified alternate method of delivery for the first rush of all-in deliveries.

Company owned retail stores are even illegal in some states. (Like Ohio and Michigan...)
